Handmade gateleg table Talavid
Talavid, sometimes called Madarö, is a classical Malmsten gateleg table designed in 1943. On the handmade drawing it is written “genomgående vacker”, which means, “beautiful all through”. We can just agree, as beautiful today as 70 years ago. This table has custom handmade hinges in brass and oak which completes Malmstens idea of folding the side boards under the small middle board.
Talavid is originally designed to be built in birch, but this piece is made in solid oak which adds some power and makes the table more earthbound, without losing the playful and light design.
